Middle Schoolers, If you like the public library, reading, and need volunteer/service hours for school, the Junior Advisory Board is for you!
What is the Junior Advisory Board?
The JAB (Junior Advisory Board) consists of a group of youths in grades 6 through 8 who are interested in volunteering and taking an active role in determining services and programs at the public library. Serving on the JAB can look great on your college application or job resume and tweens can complete volunteer/service requirements for school.
Requirements to Serve
Must be in grades 6 through 8
Attend monthly meetings the first Thursday of each month at 5 pm
Be willing to serve for at least one semester (semesters are September to December, January to May, and June to August)
Plan library services
Promote library programs and services at school and in the community
Make suggestions for the collection
Assist with library programs for children
Meet and work with others and have fun at the library
