Governor Roy Cooper is putting the entire state of North Carolina under a "stay at home" order to combat the Coronavirus.  Cooper says the order goes into effect beginning at 5:00 P.M. Monday and will last 30 days.  The order does allow for people with essential jobs to go to work, and residents will be allowed to go to the grocery store, doctor offices, pharmacies and other vital services.

The Governor says violations of this order can lead to a class two misdemeanor.
