Park Rules (Section 11-8)
- Pets must be leashed at all times and are restricted to trail usage only. Owners must pick up and dispose of pet waste.
- The fines for pet infractions are as follows:
- Leash law infraction: $50.
- Pets on athletic field areas/playgrounds: $50.
- Failure to remove pet waste: $50
- Parks are open from dawn to dusk each day unless otherwise reserved by citizens for private functions or for recreation activities permitted by the recreation department or town council. Parks with lighted athletic fields or courts remain open for the duration of the game or practice activity as scheduled by the parks and recreation department.
- No golfing on park property.
- Motorized vehicles are restricted to roads and designated parking areas.
- Athletic fields are closed for play when the park gates are secured.

Dog Park Rules:
Large Dog Park Rules
- PICK UP THE POOP. If your dog poops, pick it up. Bags and containers are provided.
- DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED THAT ARE: sick, aggressive, females in heat, without current vaccination displayed, or too young for vaccination. Proof of a current rabies vaccination and license is required upon request of a police or animal control officer.
- Dogs that are over 25 lbs are advised to use the Large Dog Park.
- Leash your dog until it is safely inside and return it to your leash before exiting.
- Always keep an eye on your dog and maintain voice control to prevent trouble.
- Children under 16 years old must be supervised by an adult at all times.
- No dogs without owners, and no owners without dogs.
- Leash your dog whenever you sense problems.
- YOU are responsible for all injuries and damages caused by your dog.
- Do not let dogs dig holes. If they do, please fill them in immediately
The Town of Morehead City will not be responsible for injuries to visiting dogs, their owners, or others using the park. The Town of Morehead City reserves the right to ban any dog/owner for failure to comply with the Parks rules and regulations.
Report any bite or aggressive dogs to the Carteret Communication Center immediately by calling 252-726-7911.
