Lunch Buddy
Each day Morehead City Police Department officers go to the school cafeteria and have lunch with elementary school students.

Drug diversion is a concept involving the transfer of prescribed controlled substances from the intended person to someone that was not prescribed the drugs for illicit use.

Security Checks
If you are going to be away from your home contact MCPD and fill out a quick security check form and officers will check on your house and property for you. You will be notified of any problems and checks will stop when you notify the police department that you are back in town.

Senior Luncheon
Each year MCPD Staff remind the seniors in the community how important they are by inviting them to a luncheon and providing them with a free meal, fellowship, presentations, and door prizes.

Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run
Each year, Law Enforcement Officers from across the state raise money for Special Olympics North Carolina (SONC) by conducting The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

Each month we are honored to present certificates to outstanding young people at Morehead City Elementary School.

Victim Witness Assistance
The Victim Assistance Program offers support and services to victims of sexual assault, robbery, kidnapping, domestic violence, and aggravated assault.

Volunteers and Interns
MCPD provides individuals with career exploration and criminal justice experience using multiple methods. It could be a one-time visit, completion of a research project, volunteering for experience, or an internship required by an educational institution. Each opportunity is tailored to the needs of the individual to increase the understanding of and excitement for any number of law enforcement related work opportunities.
