Hazardous Waste, Excluded Waste, Special Waste

Materials or substances defined and regulated for disposal by a Federal, State or Environmental agency, which poses a danger or hazard to the environment or persons collecting such material. Contact correct agency for proper disposal (Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Coastal Regional Solid Waste Management Authority (CRSWMA), etc.)

Medical Waste & Infectious Waste

Solid waste from the diagnosis, treatment, research, production, testing or immunization of humans or animals which may produce an infectious disease. These include sharps, blood products, body fluids, and microbiological or pathological waste. Contact the DEQ, County Health Department or personal physician for proper disposal.

Septage or Sludge

Any untreated or partially treated sewage solids, liquids or other sewage waste of human or domestic origin generated from a residence, business, institution or treatment plant (waste or water). Contact DEQ or the County Health Department for proper disposal.

Waste, Oil & Batteries

Motor oil, unmounted passenger car or truck tires and automotive lead acid batteries are not accepted. These items can be taken to the Carteret county Convenience site located on Hibbs Road, Newport for disposal.
